Carrara Markets have 500 market stalls that sell everything from brand new to second hand.
These are permanent markets and a lot are under-cover.

Living here and going to these markets, I really don’t find them much! I find these days, they are full of cheap and a lot of items come from Asia. Australian souvenirs being sold are not Australian made, these come from Asia.
There is clothing, I guess not badly priced, shoes, caps that can have your name put onto them, pots & plants, crafts, really all the market type gear you can think of. The only item I saw I thought was really good were paintings done by a local Artist, these were excellent.

Meals here were reasonable. We had the all day breakfast for lunch, cost $6.50 and was good.
Probably if you don’t live here, and are on your first visit, you will like it.

There is FREE PARKING for 4000 cars.
NO CAR – NOT A PROBLEM, for a small fee, you can catch the Carrara Markets Bus.
It operates every weekend and services locations throughout Surfers Paradise and Broadbeach!
Simply look for the bus stop closest to you and check the bus timetable for weekend pickup and return times. Remember to hail the Driver! [see website] Look for the ConXion bus coach marked with the signs CARRARA MARKETS.

The prices of all ROUND TRIP BUS FARES are as follows
Adults $4……Children under 14yrs old $2…Children under 5yrs old-FREE
Pensioners……$2

OPEN EVERY SATURDAY & SUNDAY FROM 7am -4pm

Gold Coast is not only about theme parks. It is also famed for its night market. Every Wednesday and Friday, stallholders will bring out their wares to wow the crowd. There are magicians to singers and even artists.

Located near the beach and a string of shopping malls, you can really stroll along and enjoy what the more than 100 stalls have to offer.

As for my family, we could not have left te place without buying anythng right? My children was pestering my wife and I for a toy and a sponge lizard caught they eyes. So we bought them each a sponge lizard.

They are opened from 4.00pm to 9.00pm.

So the Gold Coast has this rotating Sunday market (the week we were there it was in Burleigh Heads). Awesome day out for everyone.
The market itself was a lot of craft and local art, but one the end of the market they had a few kids rides (bouncing castle/ pony rides etc), huge food area (usual carnival food vans & local businesses – go the Indo satays!!!) as well as an adults only drink area (which may have been hosted by the surf club).
Lots to see and lots to do!! See any of the local tourist booklets to find out where it is when you’re there!!

Surfers also has a few night markets.
On a Wednesday & Friday, Surfers (Cavill Ave & in Broadbeach). This could be seasonal and/or rotational so check the local tourist guide (Cavill Ave info centre or most hotels have a copy).
There were a lot of the same stalls at the night market that were at the Sunday market; local art, photos, paintings, kids toys etc. But there were a few new things and it was pretty seeing it all at night.
Any market lover would get a kick out of it.
