Movie World is a Warner Bros theme park with rides, slides and shows with all the glitz and glamour of Hollywood.

You can fly like a speeding bullet on the Superman Escape where you are catapulted from whoa to 100km/h in just 2 seconds!

If that only whet your appetite you could travel at 85 km/h and feel 4G’s of gravity on the totally awesome Lethal Weapon.

For something a tad tamer there’s a 70km/h drop from the top of a mountain in a canoe so hang onto your hats.

After all these thrills and spills it’s also worth checking out the Stars on Parade with Shrek, Batman, Scooby Doo, Tweety and Daffy Duck.

And for a good laugh have a look at the Police Academy Stunt Show with staged re-enactments from these popular movies.

You can also go shopping for souvenirs at the many themed shops to be found around Movie World.

Rides & Attractions are open from 10am to 5pm
Gates Close at 5:30pm

Warner Bros. Movie World has some decent rides, a live action show, movie exhibit and street parades.

The Lethal Weapon and Scooby Doo Rollercoaster are the best of the rides. The Wild West Falls ride is okay also. *New Ride: Movie World is set to launch its most awesome new ride on December 26th 2005 – The Superman Escape! Superman Escape will be an extraordinary rollercoaster ride experience, which travels 0 – 100 kilometres in just 2 seconds!

The Police Academy Stunt Show has been there from the opening of Movie World. It is a great show to see once, but I think they need to expand and make some new shows.

The movie exhibit changes about every 12 months or so, currently they have the Matrix Exhibit. It is a walk-through experience with a display of original sets, props and costumes.

Kids will love the Street Parade where you have the chance to party with all your favourite Warner Bros. characters including the all the Looney Tunes characters and the Scooby-Doo gang. Throughout the day, you’ll also have the chance to meet and have your photo taken with our resident Hollywood superheroes and superstars including Marilyn, Batman and the entire Looney Tunes Gang!

$58 for Adults
$37 for Children (4-13yrs)

Movie world is classified as ” Hollywood on the Gold Coast” and it is just that. It features all the things movie producers have to go through to make a movie. Hey, if you are lucky they will even let you become an extra on the set for one.

We sat through a demonstration of Make-up and sound production when we were there. There are also alot of characters walking the streets of the park to amuse both young and old.
Great “TV” Land.!!!

Be there early to catch the show on the streets of Movie World.. From the time I entered the theme park until I left the place, the excitement was never-ending…

You will experience a fun-filled, Gold Coast theme park family adventure with all the glitz and glamour of Hollywood. Meet your favourite stars and enjoy all the behind-the-scenes action, comedy stunts and exhilarating rides, shows and attractions!

Ohh.. Do look out for stars… I managed to catch up with Austin Powers in between rides..

And the rides…Woohoo… Being a theme park freak, i really really enjoyed all the rides… The park was way too big that I didn’t get to go for a second round… *sigh*… But i’ll definitely be back!!

My favourite rides here were Scooby Doo Spooky Coaster & Lethal Weapon…

And don’t forget to catch the Police Academy Stunt Show & Movie Magic Special Effect… Make sure to take part in their shows….

After entering Movie World, it was time to look at the list to see what time the shows were on.
The Hollywood Stunt Driver was at 11am, so we made our way to the entrance and into the stand, by this time, 10.45am, it was nearly full.
This was a different show to what I’d previously seen, so I was really looking forward to it. The camera crew were at the front of the audience, winding them up for the show. There is a movie set and a big screen so you don’t miss any of the action.
Right on 11am the show began, action right from the beginning. I hope you like the smell of burning rubber as there is plenty of this!
What we are seeing, is the making of a Hollywood action film. Expect comedy, incredible stunts, precision driving and hair-raising action right before your very eyes. By the noise from the crowd, I think the majority enjoyed this show, I know my husband and I did.

INCLUDED IN THE ENTRY PRICE

Entrance opens approx. 30 min before show time.
SHOWS….11:00AM and 1:50PM

The other show is a WESTERN – “Town Show Down”
Here you see the Sheriff and Black Bart in action in a wild west town. Expect action, gun shots, a brawl and more.
I didn’t think this was much, but once again, IT IS INCLUDED IN THE PRICE.
Children would probably love it!

SHOW TIME IN THE WESTERN VILLAGE…..12:15PM

This theme park was my husbands favourite. He got to snuggle up with Catwoman, Wonderwoman and Marilyn. Every mans fantasy, maybe but lucky for us women they always come back to us real women.

Warner Brothers Movie World will have something to please everyone. From the 4d Shrek adventure, Police Academy Stunt show or the Matrix Action Show to The Austin Powers Groovy Movie show . The kids will love the Looney Tunes musical review, the All Stars parade or Aerobics Looney Tunes Style. Don’t forget all the rides aswell. All aiming at getting the adrenalin pumping. The new ride, Superman Escape looked so totally scary. Atleast I had an excuse not to wimp out by not getting on.. It didn’t open till the 26th of December.

There are photo opportunities galore so have your cameras at the ready and snap some pic of yourself with your favourite characters or stars.

The theme park is open from 10 am to 5pm and believe me , you need all that time to see it properly.

If you buy a 3 park super pass you have unlimited access to Movie World, Wet and Wild and Sea World once you have visited the 3 parks once each and had your pass validated. This is the best value for money option all round if you intend on visiting them all and numerous times.

Public transport is available , with bus stops right out the front. You can also prebook a transfer with one of the may coaches for a very reasonable cost. This usually includes pick up and drop off to your accomodation.

Warner Bros. Movie World, KNOWN as “Movie World,” is a movie related theme park on the Gold Coast, owned and operated by Village Roadshow.
Attached to the Theme Park is where actual movies are made. More recent movies have been “The Chronicles of Narnia, The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, Scooby-Doo and House of Wax and Ghost Ship. TV productions are made here too, including the Lost World series.

This was a return visit for me. I found there no longer is an attraction where you can go and see what happens when a movie is being made. Now, I would say it is more for children and the young at heart who enjoy roller coasters and other entertainment. There are shows to see, Restaurants and food outlets and shops for souvenirs. Food is fairly expensive. At 3pm, the street parade is held, this is when you see all the characters at once.

2013 GENERAL ADULT ADMISSION…..$84.99
CHILD 3-13 YEARS OLD………………….. .$49.99
PENSIONER………………………………….. ..$49.99
THESE PRICES ALLOW ENTRY FOR ONE DAY ONLY

I suggest if you are staying in the Gold Coast area, to buy the VIP pass, which includes unlimited entry to Movie World, Sea World and Wet & wild, IT IS VERY GOOD VALUE!

GATES OPEN AT 9.30 AM …..RIDES 10AM
THE PARK CLOSES AT 5PM.
A park guide is given to you at the Ticket Booth with a slip of paper inside telling the times of the shows – Don’t lose this!

Disabled people can come and enjoy the Park as there are facilities including car parking, toilets and ramps. – Wheelchairs can be hired.
MUMS – Stroller hire
Electronic Lockers
ATM’S in the Park

Even though the price is quite expensive, if you work out that most rides these days cost from $15 – $20 per ride, you will find you have your money back in no time. Go at opening time and leave at closing time, have as many rides as you want!

This is one of the main reasons to come to Movie World – To enjoy some hair raising rides.
What is good here, is there is a childrens area, where children over a certain height [measure there] CAN go on junior roller coasters and other rides, just like the adults do on the full size ones.
Please check out the web link to see if your child will be able to go on these rides. It gives the needed height of the child to be able to participate.
The Carousel is great, it has all the Disneyland characters that the children can sit on. If it is hot, there is a wet area, and if the small children want to practice their driving skills, there are some small cars they can drive around a race track. Plenty of choices to keep them amused, and plenty of smiling faces.

ALL INCLUDED IN THE PRICE!

Also, roaming around the park, are Tweety Pie, Sylvester, Daffy Duck and a few other characters who you can have your photo taken with. You can use your camera, or buy one of the professional photos.
Plenty of men were queueing for a photo with Marlilyn Monroe!
